What to Expect:
Welcome to year 16 of Fred’s Basketball Association! Around here, it’s all about getting kids on the court, learning the game, and having a great time while they do it. Whether you’re just starting out or already love basketball, our program is designed so you can build skills at your own speed, gain confidence with every practice, and discover how fun the game can be. Along the way, players make new friends, learn teamwork, and enjoy the excitement of basketball in a supportive, positive environment.
Rookie Ball (J) K & 1st Grade:
A non-competitive league meant to promote fun, exercise and most importantly the fundamentals of basketball. We want players to have fun and want to continue to play basketball. All levels are welcome. This is a co-ed league.
JV Ball 2nd & 3rd Grades:
Players in this program continue to focus on the basic skills of basketball in a fun and age-appropriate manner. Individual skill and technique, combined with introduction to offensive and defensive positioning, game rules and basic off-ball movement are incorporated. Players will participate in 3-on-3 play on 8-foot hoops to support their development of property shooting techniques and promote lots of touches on the ball. The season will conclude with a 2-week tournament. All levels are welcome. This is a co-ed league.
Varsity Ball 4th & 6th Grades:
We incorporate a variety of drills designed to improve ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, decision-making and more. In addition to developing their individual skill sets, players will begin learning advanced team concepts and tactics. Each session will include a combination of half - and full-court games. This is a co-ed league.
